My wife and I Ran in the 2012 San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon this past weekend. We stayed at the Historic Menger Hotel. So many events have happened at the Menger, its great to visit just for its history (see more about that here: http://mengerhotel.com/historic-san-antonio-hotel/index.cfm .) We enjoyed our stay but the hotel is also said to be haunted. If you’re thinking of making a weekend trip to San Antonio, just for fun you may want to check out a little of the haunted history of the Menger Hotel here: http://www.texasescapes.com/DEPARTMENTS/Visible_Ink/Menger_Hotel/Menger_Hotel.htm and on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menger_Hotel

Sadly, one runner passed away after completing the Half Marathon and 48 people were taken to the hospital, likely due to the unusually warm, humid race day conditions. It reminds us all to be very careful when undertaking such events. You can see more about what happened here: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local_news/article/Half-marathoner-s-death-remains-a-mystery-2268289.php
