Iceland has announced they will begin accepting foreign travelers beginning March 18, 2021 — with a certificate of vaccination for COVID-19.

The requirements mean travelers who have been vaccinated will be able to travel to Iceland without a PCR test and quarantine, the current restrictions, and includes travelers from the United States to Iceland. Those who want to enter must provide proof of full vaccination certified by the World Health Organization (WHO), which includes Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZenica, and Moderna vaccines.

Iceland will also accept proof of a prior infection.

Before the announcement, only citizens of the EU and EEA were allowed in the country, and only then with a negative PCR test before departure, a five-day quarantine, a second negative PCR test upon arrival, and a third negative PCR test after their quarantine was over.
