Southwest Airlines may soon be getting rid of one of their most recognizable features, maybe. According to new CEO Bob Jordan, there is a possibility they could consider assigned seating on the airline. Southwest Airlines has traditionally had open seating on all their flights.

According to Travel Weekly, Jordan was speaking during a town hall and said there were no immediate talks about assigned seating, but he is not ruling it out in the future.

“Could we one day need to take back up the assigned-seating question? I think we may have to do that,” Jordan said. “Just know this; we are committed to continuing to look at our product, making sure it’s relevant.”

Jordan added that assigned seating helps turnaround time and would be beneficial for business travelers.

Although the seating on Southwest Airlines may change, Jordan said there are no plans to begin charging for checked bags — one of the other features that sets the airline apart from other operating airlines.
